Dishes

Doing the dishes can become quite a project when there are little girls in the home who are so excited to learn and help out! One of Abby's favorite things to do is sit in the sink while I wash dishes. I give her her own rag and she picks out her cups from the hot, bubbly water and pretends to wash them. Even after I finish all the dishes she can sit in there for about 15 minutes more, just playing with the water, which gives me a chance to do some good cleaning in the kitchen.

The other night I had Abby's two cousins, Alena and Sophia, over for a while so their mommy could have a chance to grocery shop. I started doing dishes and everyone wanted in on the fun. I had some help with washing, drying, and Sophia just hung around and oversaw the whole process.

It was definitely quite an experience with all three. (I hope those dishes were washed well.) It's a bit distracting trying to keep an eye on everyone while I work. But it's totally worth it! The girls are learning how to work and they are so excited about it. (hopefully that will stick :-) I want to encourage all the mommies out there to slow down their work pace and include their kids. Everything may not be done to the level of perfection that you like, but what's more important, a squeaky clean counter and floor or precious time spent with your child? I choose allowing Abby to help out. I hope you do too! Blessings!

I'm back to blogging land!

Hello everyone! Miss me? Well I'm back with a new post! And the reason that I am posting is because Eric is working late tonight (actually he is working through the night) and I cannot sleep while he is gone...so I am blogging. Happy? I am. I miss him but I am glad that he has a job and I am glad to be spending some blogging time with you.

So what has been happening with the Smiths? Well it's been a while since my last post so I have some major catching up to do! I shall start with Abby's first car wash! She had a blast helping me wash my car for the first time (first time for her helping... not first time I washed my car, just to clarify.) Here are some pics!

Bubbles!

Cold!
Next is my trip to California to see my sister, Becky when she came home for her fall break from School in Tenn.! I also got to see my other "Sissy" Natalie! She now goes to school in California and no longer lived 5 minutes from me. Abby was excited to see all her aunties, uncle, cousins, and Nana and Papa. My mom and I also got lots of crafting time! We were able to plan crafts for my church craft group and my MOPS group for the whole rest of the year! And my mom was able to hook me up with most of the supplies! Yeah! Go mom! Thank you!

Waiting for Auntie Becky at the Airport. Somehow I did not get a picture of Auntie Becky! I do not know how that happened!

Snugle time with Papa. Love it!

Bottle time with Nana. So Sweet!

The next Smith event was our 2 year anniversary! Abby went and spent the evening with her cousins and auntie and uncle while Eric and I went to Macaroni Grill and then walked around Target. It was a fun, simple evening! We love Macaroni Grill because of the paper table cloths. We colored each other pictures and on a more serious note wrote down some goals for our next year of marriage. On our actual wedding anniversary date, we had a special family dinner at home with just the three of us. We decided that in the future we want to make it a fun evening as a family and kind of reinact some of our wedding for our kids. For example, we will all get dressed up, we will have a fancy dinner with the decorations from our wedding table, we will watch our wedding video, and then we will all smash cake in each others faces! Well maybe we will all just eat it nicely, but you get the idea. I think it'll be a fun tradition for our family.

Our anniversary cake for our family celebration. Those bears were on our wedding cake 2 years ago and 25 years ago they were on my parent's! Special!

All dressed up!

More cake! Yumm!

Next on our calendar was halloween! Abby won first place for cutest costume at a harvest festival we went to. Hooray! I think I was more excited than her haha!
My adorable Chicken!

Ok, I think the rest of my pictures are just random happenings. Our thanksgiving was fun but not too Thanksgivingish. I promis I will try to keep this blog more updated on the funny day to day things that go on in the Smith family instead of catching up with my picture bullet points. Toodles for now! Here are some of the random pictures... Pushing around her truck
Loading her truck... hard work!
Taking time to smell the flowers

Sooo sweet!

Being her fun self!
